From the Heart Scholarship

This $1,000 scholarship is being offered in honor of, Frank Farmer, the father of Linda Furches. Frank was an avid horseman,
and a talented breeder. Many of the horses and ponies he bred throughout the years came to Linda’s Foxtale Farm in Oley, PA.
His program developed horses that could carefully carry a beginner in weekly lessons, yet could help a hardworking student
successfully qualify for Zone Finals.  His horses often participated in PHSA sponsored events. Frank was a staunch supporter of
all young riders who worked hard to be a part of the sport, regardless of the means from which they came.

The scholarship is open to both high school seniors and college students whose lives have been impacted positively by being a part
of the equestrian community. Candidates will write a short essay about a person or horse that played an important part in their
life. In keeping with Frank’s vision that all children should be able enjoy our sport through hard work, applicants do not have to be
a regular competitor to apply.

Please submit essays to contactus@pennhsa.org for consideration.
