The PHSA banquet was a big success!
Below is a letter from The Yearling Hunter Futurity of Pennsylvania:
Dear Fellow Breeders and Competitors,
We are pleased to announce the return of the Yearling Hunter Futurity
of Pennsylvania. The Futurity will be held Sunday July 21, 2002 at
Mileview Farm in Doylestown, PA with a 10:00 A.M. start time.
The Futurity is an
Open Futurity, all yearlings of 2002 are welcome, and we will be having
both HORSE and PONY sections. It has been four long years since Pennsylvania
held its last Futurity, and it is now under new management. Our new
committee consists of all breeders, and competitors, and we all realize
that there are very few opportunities to showcase your yearlings, and win money
at the same time. In addition, for those standing stallions, futurities
offer a great way to promote your stallion and his offspring.
Here is the
chance to do all of the above, stallion promotion, showcase your yearling,
and win money. Our committee has listened to fellow breeders and
competitors suggestions, and what they are looking for in a futurity. We
have addressed each suggestion that has been brought to our attention, and
have made several changes with them in mind. Here are a few examples of
the changes we have made, no nominations, we will be taking entries until 48
Hours before the date of the futurity (there is a late fee for entries
received after 7-1-02), payment to eighth place and ribbons to tenth, good
prize money, coolers to each the Grand Champion Horse and Pony, a full 8
1/2 X 11 catalog of exhibitors and sponsors, in the catalog adding where the
sires of the entries are located and contact numbers, provide a friendly
environment, exhibitors gift bags, door prizes and many more.
Looking forward to the future, in 2003 we plan to add to the Futurity
and make a Young Hunter Under Saddle Futurity for horses 5 and under with
the class to be 50% conformation and 50% under saddle, and an Amateur
Handler Futurity to feature the up and coming handlers and breeders .
In
