USHJA Affiliate Awards Program
Distribution of a description of the awards program being proposed by USHJA. PHSA would be required to name the award winners, and winners would have to be USHJA members. The board anticipated having difficulty finding winners to fit within the USHJA criteria; therefore, PHSA will not be participating in this program.
Annual Meeting & ElectionsDue to the cost of an Annual Meeting and the low meeting attendance in prior years, the board elections scheduled for this January will be held electronically. Sue Hansen will create an interactive voting mechanism to be accessed through www.PennHSA.org. The board nominated the following PHSA members for the 2006 election: Bob Daly, Diane Daly, Cheryll Francella, Cheryl Francis, Susan Hansen, Doris MacDonald, Barbara Miller, Gaye Goldeman, Audrey Winzinger, Diane Boram, John Mastriano and Corey Golden.
Breeding CommitteeThe Zone 2 Committee has voted to allow pony breeding entries to receive points at 2 shows, held in Zone 2 on the same day by the same management. This is currently allowed for breeding horses; and, ponies will now be treated equally.
A Handler of the Year Trophy will be introduced at this year’s banquet. The breeding committee is sponsoring the trophy and it will arrive at the banquet fully engraved.
Pre-Green SpecsThe Zone 2 committee has voted not to create uniform specs for this division because a pre-green award will not be offered.
BanquetChampions will receive a leather halter with a plate and $75, Reserve Champion will receive a leather lead shank with a plate and $50. The board will help with silent auction donations and sponsorships. Diane asked that all trophies be mailed directly to her, so they don’t get lost; and, that people me reminded to send EPPHA trophies to EPPHA and PHSA trophies to PHSA.
DonationsThe board voted to donate $100.00 to the Lt. Col. Marsh Memorial Fund. The board also voted to donate a total of $500 to the Animals of the Gulf Coast for support in the animal rescue efforts following Katrina.
