1. Treasurer’s Report $39,375.21 total in checking & money market.
2. Next Meeting Date March 30, 2009, Worchester Stables. Cheryle Francis is in charge of food.
3. Breeding Committee Report-

The order of go for the breeding classes will be listed by number, not letters. All in hand classes, except classes for 3 year olds, will be shown as split colts & fillies. There will be no new year end awards caused by these changes.

 

The breeding comm. has suggested, and the board approves, making a request to Devon that broodmare class entries & amateur handler entries be PHSA recorded/members. Doris will write a request letter to Devon.

Discussion on Pony Hunter Breeding Task Force rule change proposals – The board supports all of the proposals except they recommend ponies mimic the horses with all except weanlings wearing a bridle.

Discussion on Zone 2 Committee proposed rule changes - PHSA supports keeping the option that animals may return for BYH; but, not must return.

 

4. Membership Committee Report

Membership Kit- nonprofit status for post office not cost effective. Spoke with Diane Boram about membership form distribution and membership solicitation. She just distributes through show secretary desks & email reminders. That doesn’t provide much outreach beyond our current members. Several mailing lists could be available to us & we could mail kits to Pa members on the lists. We need to put up a display listing PHSA divisions & awards, showing examples of prior awards; and, having membership forms available. Secretary can refer interested parties to display.

Create one form that is for performance & breeding. Brian will handle display for Thanksgiving/Xmas Worchester Stables shows. John gets sample of award.

Banquet invitations are about to go out. Doris will put membership forms in banquet invitations.

 

5. Retroactive points for new members

The board wants to abolish any retroactive point policies, effective immediately. Doris will send out a written notice to the breeding members. Audrey will confirm with Diane that she no longer offers retroactive points.

6. Annual Sponsors

The board will begin offering annual division/class sponsorships in addition to the banquet sponsorships.

Brian will put info on membership form saying that interested parties can be an annual sponsor, send in a check for $150. & pick the division/class they want to sponsor.

7. Hall of Fame

This program will begin at the 2009 banquet. Cindi & Cheryll will have some promo at the banquet.

8. Banquet

Bob to work out Key to Worcester Stables. Sue took the jewelry to be raffled. Audrey to arrange for an ad on the winners’ DVD for the Marco Island trip. Prize money discontinued until further notice.

9. Annual meeting

Board members with expiring terms are: Liz Arbittier, Cynthia Diebert, Gaye Goldeman, Brian Livell, Barbara Miller & Shannon Muldoon. The nominees for these six seats are: Liz Arbittier, Cynthia Diebert, Gaye Goldeman, Brian Livell, Barbara Miller & Troy Hendricks.
